Learn What Sets Me Apart From The Rest

When you are looking for a real estate agent to hire, whether it be to sell your home or purchase a new home, there are some important things you should consider. Let me share my background with you, and the reasons why you would want to hire someone with my experience.

My career of over 25 years has provided me with a wealth of knowledge and a depth of expertise to assist you with your real estate sale or purchase. It actually began as a child, as a daughter of a carpenter, where we renovated our homes as family projects. From there I learned many facets of the home building and construction process. I bought my first house at the age of 22, and have continued building and renovating homes throughout my adult life. I always have a project going on, and am always happy to share my experiences and contractors with my clients.

My first position out of school was with Galbreath Mortgage Company. I ended a 21-year career there (now known as JPMorgan Chase), as Vice President, Default Loan Servicing. Those 21 years gave me a tremendous background in mortgage loan servicing, homeowners insurance, real estate taxes, loan transfers, defaulted loans including collection, foreclosure, bankruptcy, loss mitigation, REO's and customer service from the inside.

I also had the opportunity to work for a title company and real estate law firm and gained knowledge about every aspect of the title business from title policies to loan closings. The law firm handled foreclosures and bankruptcies and I had the privilege of processing the cases and bidding at the Sheriff's Sales on behalf of the lenders. You can't get much more on the inside than that.

A corporate restructure at JPMorgan Chase in 2002 opened the door for me to accept a great severance package and take my career to a new and different height. I had previously marketed and sold several of my own properties (FSBO's) and had always wanted to obtain my real estate license. As a single parent with two kids, time did not permit. But when the door of opportunity opened in 2002, my kids were grown, and it was the perfect time to cease it. So, here I am starting my eighth year as a realtor, and it's just the beginning.

Not only do I have a wealth of knowledge and experience in the technical aspects of the business, I am a professional. The business of real estate isn't just about putting a sign in the yard or showing houses. It requires a level of professionalism with integrity and character and trust. It's about results and putting your clients first and achieving your clients' goals. You need great analytical skills, negotiation skills and marketing skills. You must have the ability to organize and multi-task and pay attention to details. I have demonstated those throughout my career, which speaks to the level I achieved in the corporate world.

Now, I'm taking those same qualities, and will open and manage a satellite office in Marble Cliff named Cheryl Dye & Tri-Village Associates Real Living HER. My objective is to focus marketing in the Tri-Village area which includes Marble Cliff, Grandview and Upper Arlington, while continuing to service my loyal past clients and their referrals in Franklin and the surrounding counties. Five agents whose work ethic and styles are complimentary will join me to partner in increasing that market share.
