Who's Who In The New Home Buying & Selling Experience

There are a lot of people involved in the New Home Buying & Selling experience. Now that you've made the decision to take this journey, here is a list of the players.

Developer: A person or corporation that prepares land for future housing. Developers sell land to builders who construct homes within their communities.

Custom Builder: A home builder who designs and builds homes to the exact specifications and tastes of the home buyers.

On-Your-Lot Builder: A home builder who builds homes on property already owned by the buyer.

Contractor: An individual contracted to build on a property. He or she erects the structure and manages all subcontractors until the project is completed.

Lender: A person, company, corporation or business that lends money for the purchase of real estate.

Mortgage Broker: An individual or company that brings together lenders and borrowers and processes necessary mortgage applications. He or she is paid a percentage of the sale price of the home upon completion of the transaction.

Title Company: The corporation or company that issues the title through the closing. The title company may also handle other aspects of the closing.
