HUD halts Ohio's $1 home purchases

HUD halted the program Tuesday, pending a review that officials said could be completed within a month. The homes offered by HUD had federally guaranteed mortgages, which put them in the agency's hands after the owners defaulted.
The Plain Dealer reported that more sales were pending to local governments in Ohio and Michigan than had been transferred nationwide in the program's five-year history. read more.....
