The Ohio State Fair begun in 1850. In 1886, the fair moved to its current home at what is now called the Ohio Expo Center, with over 360 acres for rides, games, concerts, agriculture, horticulture, and so much more! Every year is different, but the fair usually goes from the end of July to the beginning of August. It is a fun 12 day event!

This harness racing track is a top sports attraction in Central Ohio. Scioto Downs has established itself not only locally, but nationally. This 4.10 acre park at 25 Marconi Boulevard features the James Barney Children's Fountain, sculpted by Jack Greaves, which tells the fable of an American Indian child named Pickaweekee. There is also a statue honoring the city's early Italian immigrants, and a tour-ready replica of the Santa Maria, the cargo ship that brought Christopher Columbus to the New World in 1492. the park is also home to the Columbus Fire Memorial, which honors firefighters who were killed in the line of duty. The park was dedicated to honor Ohio industrialist Gordon Battelle, and funded through the Battelle Memorial Institute, a charitable trust organized for technology research.

Schiller Park is the second oldest park in the City of Columbus and was obtained in 1867. the park is now a well-kept central location of German Village life. The recreation center, picnic areas, softball diamonds, fishing pond, and stage for the Actor's Summer Theater, not to mention the beautifully landscaped gardens, make Schiller Park the jewel of German Village.

A "landscaping of a painting" is at the corner of East Town St. and Washington Ave. in downtown Columbus. The garden reproduced Georges Seurat's postimpressionist painting., " A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatta" in topiary figures, some 12 feet tall. The only such recreation in the world, the nine acre park includes 50 different topiary figures of people, dogs, cats, monkeys, and boats.

This dog park has a large area that is 4.5 acres and small one acre, dully fenced, and with 5 feet coated chain link fencing, two double gated entrances. Paved pathways throughout both the large and small dog areas. Dog water fountain (and one for people too), dog rinsing-off station, dog waste bags provided, trashcans, and 50 space paved parking lot.

This is a 1.5 acre dog park that has fences, a path, grass, trees, hills, and a pump for drinking water with bowls. The pump has been known to not always work though. Be sure to bring water in the winter months and some baggies to share. There is on road parking all along this park.

This dog park is a 4 acre fenced area where dogs may run off-leash. It contains a separate fenced area for small dogs 25 lbs or less and agility area for all dogs. A paved path runs through the large dog area. On Thursday mornings the grass gets mowed so be aware of that.
